Scottish Rite Children’s Charities
Two national programs removing the language and literacy barriers that can hold a child back — at no cost to their families.

The RiteCare® Scottish Rite Childhood Language Program provides evaluation and treatment for speech, language and learning disorders through more than 170 programs nationwide. The Children’s Dyslexia Centers of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction offer free, structured multisensory tutoring at more than 40 centers in 13 states.
How We Help
Missouri’s RiteCare network reaches children through university-based clinics and programs across the state — the Walker Scottish Rite Clinic at Maryville University, the RiteCare Early Literacy Lab at Truman State, the Early Language and Literacy Lab at the University of Central Missouri, and the programs serving families through Kansas City and Joplin. The LIGHT Foundation has given to all of them, and in one year divided a gift equally among the five with no lead recipient and no naming opportunity.
Much of our work has been about making these free services findable and fundable. We underwrote and built Missouri RiteCare’s first website, produced its first public appeal, funded technology for teletherapy, sent clinicians to national training, and provided grants that kept therapy going when families could not come in person. We also renew program underwriting for the Children’s Dyslexia Centers.
