RUNNIN’ for MISSOURI RITECARE – 2018 MULE DASH 5K
September 29th marked the annual University of Central Missouri’s “Mule Dash 5K” hosted by the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) Chapter at UCM’s Communication Disorders Department. This robust group of SLP students, their advisor (and key RiteCare Clinic Professional at UCM), Kimberly Stewart, MS, CCC-SLP and community friends organized this event to support the Ritecare Early Language and Literacy Lab on campus. The program began in 2011 through the generosity of the Valley of Columbia Scottish Rite Freemasons who continue to support the Clinic to serve children with communication challenges. Congrats to the NSSLHA Group for a great fundraiser and great appreciation for all our friends who work together for the Missouri RiteCare mission to help children.
Kim remarked, “The University of Central Missouri is extremely grateful to the LIGHT Foundation for their financial support at our recent “Mule Dash 5K” and Saturday Stories & Slices, a community literacy event. This literacy event is held on five Saturdays throughout the school year at the local library and freely open to the community.
A heartfelt “thank you” to LIGHT Foundation and the Valley of Columbia Scottish Rite for the ongoing support and financial contributions to the UCM Communication Disorders Program and UCM NSSLHA!”
