History
The LIGHT Foundation was founded in 2016 by the Cockerham family and close friends with the shared mission to generate leadership and development opportunities for today’s youth. Building upon our involvement in several youth-focused organizations for several decades, we created The LIGHT Foundation with the unique purpose of collaborating with other non-profit entities with like-minded missions as well as producing programs and advantages for youth.
In March 2020, the LIGHT Foundation expanded into a virtual space to explore impactful ways to fulfill the mission to create life-changing opportunities for youth. In 2021, we launched LIGHT Box Productions which produces original video, website and social media content along with philanthropic event management to expand and strengthen impact for youth-forward organizations.
What Is LIGHT?
Leadership → The LIGHT Foundation aims to cultivate youth development and authentic learning experiences through fundamental opportunities, and values of personal responsibility and self-discipline.
Inspiration → Developing and empowering a positive, successful mindset in the youth of today can fundamentally change the landscape for the betterment of tomorrow.
God → We believe that a belief in a higher power above oneself guides morality and character, and a sense of true identity and being.
Humanity → The concept of humanity represents a constant progression towards universal harmony and enlightenment. The LIGHT Foundation aims to promote human liberty, progress and education by virtue of modern technology, universal values, and service.
Tradition → The link to our past and hope for our future lies in our ability to successfully facilitate the significance of the very things that have shaped and continue to shape our world.
